Correction of the contact angle
Another example of a further processing that we have carried out on-site in cooperation with ball track milling, is the correction of the contact angle.
Here the contact angle on the right and left sides of the ball track can be adjusted during the milling process.
Caused by the occurrence of different cutting forces on the entry and exit sides of the workpiece, due to machine inaccuracies of
the machine tool in the micrometer range and increased by the wearing tool creates an inaccuracy in the contour, that is produced.
This becomes apparent by measuring the contour of the ball track.
The two contact angles can be adjusted by using an adapted NC program and also by using the calculated correction values of the associated milling cutter contour.
A highly precise contour is created.
